ABOUT JOHN PRITCHARD

John Pritchard is an award-winning educational filmmaker: oneheartmovies.org. He also publishes online courses, books and ebooks: eternalways.com. He has been a multimedia consultant for Apple, The New York Times, and many Fortune 500/Wall Street firms (1987-2007). In 2025, John won third place at the New York International Film Awards for We All Just Need to Drum! and was also a winner at the 2023 Los Angeles Awareness Film Festival for We All Just Need to Gong! In 2017, he won Best Indigenous Film at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival in Australia for One Heart-One Spirit. In 2012, he trademarked the term “movie-in-a-book” when publishing his Reawaken movie and book. In 1993, John won the $100,000 McGraw-Hill New Media Design Contest.

As an educator, John has been an instructor at Harvard and Pratt Manhattan, and designed innovative online video courses such as Freddy’s Guide to Creative Improvisation featuring Fred Lipsius of Blood, Sweat & Tears and Moving Beyond Mindfulness by the amazing Súle Greg Wilson. After graduating from St. Lawrence University (SLU) in 1983, he taught at the Academy of Television Arts and was a substitute teacher for the Boston Public School system. In 1984, he became Asst. Director of the SLU Upward Bound Program working with Native American high school students from the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation.

In 1987, he moved to NYC to work with Booz Allen and then became an educational consultant for Apple who recommended him to George Lucas in 1992 to run his new educational foundation, Edutopia (John was honored, but decided to stay in NYC). He is currently building a global AI video tutoring business to help create a better world with artificial intelligence.
